Chickamauga Battlefield – National Park Service Visitor Center
The National Park Service has a visitor center on the north end of the battlefield if you are interested in learning more about this historic civil war battlefield and its monuments. It’s worth a slow drive thru if you have never been, as we both grew up in Georgia (Savannah & Tucker) and neither had ever been here until we bought this property & started exploring. The sheer number of monuments is something to see as you drive up LaFayette Road towards Fort Oglethorpe.
We have an audio tour set of CD’s that renters can borrow (Pls don’t use them and forget to eject & return them for future visitors) to drive thru the park. It’s the most comprehensive audio tour available and we purchased it from the NPS visitor center for our guests ($50 value).
